I think I should start each entry on Dreamwidth with a condensed version of what happened, and then add a cut that explains the whole situation. I think this could make my writing more "digestible" to those who are unfamiliar with a blogger who never reveals himself.

The people who invited me are extremely rich. The boss who invited me has more than 20 houses in his own country and was involved with cloud computing just as data centers were becoming more and more popular. Me and Mrs. Cyphercrypt are on an island where people park their money for tourism and investment purposes in a location that is less-than-ideal, but more-than-liveable. My wife was also offered a job by the people who brought us here.

A coworker who was fired from the last company that I worked at on the same day as me recently reached out to me and told me about things that coworkers said about me behind my back. We endeavor to start our own company in the same industry that fired us. To this day, I still do not know if I was fired for my mistakes or because people were paranoid that I was an industrial spy.

The people who invited me here are, in a sense, oligarchs to the local economy. They are friends of one friend of mine who was also my former supervisor. The job I am being talked to about here could net me, I estimate, approximately 3-5% of the boss's wealth. IF that were the case, then in a couple of years I could make enough to retire.

My wife's hometown is very small compared to this island. We need to drive 25 or 30 minutes to get to a gymnasium or supermarket in the "downtown" area. I also think there is more potential for our children to grow up here as well. There might be some nice private schools too. More than half of the food we have eaten here has been in luxurious locations.

Failure in America
I moved back to America to take care of my family for a short while and get me and my wife's lives started there.

In America, I found a job at a company that deployed data centers while I was living in the middle east. This was early 2024. I provided my resume, had a short talk with the CEO, where I joked, "I can assure you all I'm not an industrial spy..." which made both of us laugh given my language abilities.

In the beginning the company was mixing on a focus of repairing server boards and deploying data centers. Then we switched to data-center deployment almost exclusively. On my third deployment, on our day off, I broke my ankle. I was told to rest for 12 weeks by a doctor. Then I had a terrible experience with my dad's friend, Ahmed, at our home in my hometown. He was living in our house. With only one leg working, an airboot on my other leg, and crutches to take me everywhere, I literally could not escape him unless I left the country.

As a brief aside, I need to mention just how terrible a person Ahmed is. Ahmed will lie to you because he thinks he is helping you when he is not, or he will pretend he knows better than you when he does not. Ahmed drinks and drives in his own country (WITH PASSENGERS in his car), and has encouraged me to bring my wife into America illegally. What's worse is he has turned my father into a puppet, and every word that comes out of my father's mouth is a word that comes out of Ahmed's.

Ironically enough, I accepted a vacation to his country to see my wife just so I could get the fuck away from him. For about 2 weeks I didn't have to see him again.

Vacation ended, I contacted the company, told them I would love to be at work again. They fired me and the straw that broke the camel's back was the vacation, which HR had already approved in my mind." Now, here we are with what I think is a life-changing opportunity.
